Summer Class Descriptions:

Introduction to Horse Care
August 4th 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
An introductory class covering the principles of mantaining healthy feet on the domesticated horse; effective methods of hygeine; a survey of the tools used to employ those methods; and the most common problems we see and treat through the farrier service.

HoofCare & Management for the Horse Owner
June 16, 23, 30 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
A reoccuring class covering: the anatomy and mechanism of the healthy hoof; the practice of the proper methods of cleaning the hoof; and correct use of the tools of management. This course emphasizes how to recognize commonly occurring pathologies and how to treat those that are manageable by the owner, and when an issue necessitates .

Introduction to Blacksmithing
August 11th, Tuesday, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Hands on class in basic forging skills. All students must have safety glasses and gloves. Anvil, tools, materials, and forge are provided. Each student will forge an item for their own use.
